California HealthCare Foundation
A two-year, $125,000 from the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) is helping NMC expand palliative care services from the pediatric and neonatal units to the rest of the hospital including the intensive care unit and the emergency department. The grant supports Dr. Marc Tunzi as the NMC Palliative Care Physician and offers specialized training and consulting services for palliative care team members through the UCSF Palliative Care Leadership Training Center and CHCF.
Dr. Tunzi says, “By training our staff and establishing palliative care protocols, we can transform the experience of death and dying for our patients, families and caregivers.”
