Spiritual, Palliative & Bereavement Care

"Few moments are more meaningful to a Chaplain than when a family member shares how much our care and prayer has meant to them during a life and death crisis for a loved one.”

Pastor Frank Gomez, Natividad Chaplain

Natividad’s Interfaith Spiritual Care Services program was established in 2005 with grant assistance from the Hospice Foundation, Madonna Del Sasso and individual donors.

Since then, the program has grown to include bereavement support for families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU),Monterey County’s only California Children’s Services-certified Level III NICU. Over the next few months, the Hospital will further enhance the program to include palliative care and bereavement support for Pediatric Unit patients and their families.
