EDITOR’S NOTE: Please be our special media guest at Natividad Foundation’s invitation-​only Reception/​Hero Award Presentation, which includes first preview of the art exhibit “Plein Air Art: From Field to Fork” (which will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning March 1, 2013).

Below is a schedule of the evening’s events. There will be opportunities to meet and interview the key players and founders of TALC at 5:30 p.m. This is a unique opportunity to learn how TALC is changing lives and saving lives. TALC DETAILS: In January 2010, John D’Arrigo, a third-​generation Salinas Valley grower and President of D’Arrigo Bros. Co. of CA, founded The Agricultural Leadership Council (TALC) to philanthropically support Natividad and improve the health status of farm workers and

their families. TALC recognized the need for necessary medical equipment, diagnostic tools and services and decided that all funds donated will be used for medical equipment and services as determined by TALC. Since its inception, TALC has grown from 22 founding farm families to over 110 business leaders, and has raised more than $600,000 to-​date for the hospital.

Under the leadership of TALC founder John D’Arrigo and the 21 Founding Members, including David Gill, Joe Pezzini, Tom Nunes and Bruce Taylor, TALC is opening membership to the entire community to continue the critical work of providing life-​saving equipment and services to those who need it most. PLEIN AIR EXHIBIT DETAILS: In 2012, Natividad Foundation teamed up with the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association and TALC-​The Agricultural Leadership Council for a series of “paint outs.” Throughout the growing season and harvest, artists set up their easels in TALC-​member fields, focusing their brushstrokes on the cornucopia of crops grown in the “salad bowl” of Salinas Valley.
